Spider-Man: Far From Home: Extended Cut Breakdown | All New Scenes Explained

spiderman far from home extended cut scene breakdown

With the release of Far From Home’s extended cut this weekend I thought I’d breakdown everything that you need to know about the new scenes that are included in the film.

When the film was first released, many wondered why so many scenes from the trailers didn’t make it to the final cut and this directors cut contains pretty much all of those added back in.

Throughout this, I’ll be going over all of the added scenes and what happens in as well as my thoughts on the overall release.

There will be heavy spoilers here so if you haven’t had a chance to watch Far From Home yet and don’t want to know what happens then I highly suggest that you turn off now.

With that out the way I just wanna give a huge thank you for clicking this video, now let’s get into my breakdown of the Far From Home extended cut.

Far From Home Extended Cut Scene One

The first scene involves Peter going to the passport office that was shown in trailer. Upon getting there he realises that the queue is far too long and using his spider drone, opens the till nearest to him and walks over and drops the line ‘Peter Parker Here To Pick Up A Passport Please.’

We then cut to the Deli from Spider-man Homecoming and he’s picking up a lot of travel stuff such as plug sockets and deodorant which is when Delmar, from the first film, asks if he’s planning a trip and if he can come with him to Europe. The two have the usual back and forth banter when you tell someone at work that you’re going on holiday and they say ‘ooooo will you pack me in your suitcase’ and we then cut to a pawn shop which is where we see Peter trading in his Star Wars figures to get the money to MJ’s Black Dhalia necklace.

He says….actually can I keep the Robot to the guy and takes that back Lobot from The Empire Strikes back and sells the rest and from here we go to the other huge scene that was shown in trailers which is the restaurant fight.

He says ‘alright I’m gonna give this place one star’ which is my go-to joke when I do reviews on horror movies set in haunted houses…but he probably didn’t see it. Anyway, he’s shot by a machine gun several times which actually shows that the iron spider suit is bulletproof and then he defeats the villain and the police arrive.

He has a bit of back and forth with them that I’m sure that you’ve already seen and it’s just some supplementary material to complement the film. There’s also some added dialogue with Quentin Beck but it’s nothing more than one or two lines or an additional scene that really stands out.

Is It Worth It?

So that’s all of the scenes. Honestly, if you’ve seen the trailers you’ve pretty much already seen all of the scenes and it’s kinda crazy that they put these scenes in the promotional material and are then trying to get people to double dip with the movie.

Is it worth it overall?

I guess it gives you a reason to go back and rewatch the movie if you’re a hardcore Spider-man fan which I am and I did enjoy these extra little additions but, keep in mind, I have a cinema pass where I can see unlimited movies for £18 a month so it’s not like rewatching this has cost me anything extra.

I would say for the majority of people who have a passing interest then probably not to bother as like I said a lot of this is trailer material and none of the scenes are integral to the plot and you’re not really missing out on much. I am glad that Sony did finish the scenes, unlike the Avengers Endgame re-release, these are all fully rendered and completed and so you won’t be disappointed if that let you down the last time.

These scenes all kinda flesh out the movie but they don’t really fix or answer any questions in the way that say the Batman V Superman extended cut as Far From Home is already a very tight movie and doesn’t have gaping plot holes.

I would probably say for the moment maybe give this a miss if you’re unsure on going back to see it as it just seems like it’s nothing really all that important. If they’d thrown in something about the Sony Deal at the end or something then I’d be going back to see it straight away but for the moment I would say just hold off and see if this gets released alongside the Blu Ray which I’m guessing it will in the up coming couple of months cos yeah this is fine but nothing worth breaking the bank for.

Your Thoughts

Obviously I’d love to hear your thoughts on these scenes and if you’re going back to see the film or not. Comment below and let me know!
