Ben Affleck Is The Accountant

The accountant stars Benjamin Affleck (hello darkness my old friend) and Anna Banana Kendrick (when im gonnnnneeee skit didid dididid deee).
It follows a high functioning autistic, accountant, he also runs a nail salon, and a Chinese takeway, im not even trolling, he’s also a hitman as well, so he’s got a pretty wide ranging CV,l he can kill people if he wants to, for a laugh, whilst painting his nails, the movie starts by him investigating the books of a technology firm that anna Kendrick, their accountant, has thought is missing money, we get about 35 minutes of Benjamin whispering sums to himself, writing on white boards, racist, and doing his times tables, (counts 9 x 9), the movie then takes off when all of the people connected, starts getting assassinated, anna Kendrick has to deal with Benjamins disconnected personality whilst also trying to survive against the hitmen that are after her.
As a huge batman fan they actually dropped a lot of easter eggs in it

I end up putting something in every fucking review about it, im not even trying, please help is, please help
Anyway there are a few twists throughout, if you’re still paying attention after the 40 minutes of tax revenue analysis then they’re pretty obvious but it’s still enjoyable how the movie deals with these aspects,
John bernathalalal does a really good job as being a charismatic villain and he’s really excelling in every role that he’s been given in every part ive seen him in,
The plot follows the police investigating the accountant but their plot never really goes anywhere to be honest, even in it’s conclusion other than filling in the origin story of the accountant, I don’t really think this aspect was needed and the origin could’ve been told in flashbacks as both of these characters are pretty useless to the plot
Overall the movie has some pacing problems and they could’ve dotted the origin story throughout instead of just 5 minutes at the start and in the last half hour.
I did enjoy the movie though but if you’re looking for a movie to see this weekend I’d still recommend Dr Strange over it.
If you love thrillers though it’s a great ride that’s slightly higher brow than your typical action movie.
On a scale of gigli to the town I give it an argo out of ten
So I give it a 7 bens out of bens
