Spider-Man No Way Home is just over a year away and it’s probably gonna be the biggest film in 2021. I’ve spoken to a couple of people close to the project who have filled me in with some great details on the movie and in this post, we’re gonna be breaking them down and going over what we could be seeing in the film. We’ll also be discussing potential trailer dates and we’re even making blurry thumbnails so you think that it’s a real shot of the teaser and click the video…you mug.
Full Spoilers ahead so if you don’t want anything ruined then I recommend you use your spider sense and swing out now.
You might have seen a recent video by Cris at 3c Films talking about plot details and how someone handsome had told him things about the movie. I’ve been speaking to him for a couple of months now about things I’d heard about the movie and asked him not to bring my name up but I can now exclusively reveal that it twas I, Kevin Spoilers who was discussing some of the big plot points in it.
Now being a standup spoiler man I didn’t really want any of these details getting out and there are actually a lot of people behind the scenes that know some huge things about the movie already. Pretty much every Youtuber already knows about this but all of us swore ourselves to secrecy to not spoil one of the big surprises. However, after Collider dropped a big article over the weekend discussing a lot of the reveals in the movie, I think it’s ok to discuss them as they’re already out there and Sony haven’t killed them yet, though they did make them remove the article.
I will be adding some extra details on what I’ve heard but everything seems to be lining up with what I’ve been told and what they reported.
Green Goblin Return
The first big bombshell is that Willem Dafoe is indeed the villain of the piece. His Green Goblin is back from across the Multiverse and he’s going to be uniting the Sinister Six made up of the likes of Doc Ock, Electro, The Lizard, Sandman and Rhino.
Whilst we can’t confirm any of this info and you should take it all with a big bucket of salt I’ve had conversations with numerous people all saying the same things so it does seem likely.
As we reported a while back the film will apparently be based on the comic One More Day and in case you haven’t read that it deals with Doctor Strange using magic to remove the knowledge from everyone’s head that Peter Parker is Spider-man. From what I’ve heard Peter will stop Strange in the middle of the spell to tell him to make sure that people like MJ, Aunt May and Ned remember and this causes some issues.
Whilst he’s able to pull this off and most of the world forgets, the multiverse itself breaks and villains from across other timelines are pulled into the MCU one.
This includes Molina who you might remember did a big interview discussing how the film picks up with him in the river at the end of Spider-man 2.
Costuming
Now from what I’ve been told this is actually a bit of a lie and though he said that he’s connected to the Raimi verse, it’s actually a slightly different version. Each villain is sort of a ‘What If’ instance of the character that comes from the Multiverse and not the films we’ve already seen.
Because of this there are some slight deviations and whilst Molina will appear in his classic Doc Ock trench coat, Dafoe and Jamie Foxx will have different costumes.
I’ve been told by someone who has apparently seen their concept art that Foxx will be wearing an electrical engineer hi-viz jacket and the colouring on it will be yellow and green to fit in with his costume scheme from the comics.
After they’re set free into the world, Strange will end up caging them in prison as he works a way to find a suitable spell to send them back to their homeworld. According to Collider, the title No Way Home refers to how they are now trapped in the MCU and if they are returned there will be dire consequences.
This is something that I heard myself and it does make sense from what I know.
Prison Break
Now in the prison, they will be visited by Green Goblin who will attempt to free them.
However, they’re held in place by a magical cube and after the Goblin is unable to break Strange’s magic he comes up with a different plan.
Now the villains all quote-unquote died with Spider-man at the scene and they blame him for their demise. Dafoe is meant to weaponise this to become Dafriend and he goes to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and fills him in on the prison.
Peter has a major guilt trip over how a version of him caused the deaths of every one of them on their respective Earths and unaware of how evil Osborn is, he decides to help out.
Mirror Dimension
This involves Peter stealing the magical cube and it pits him head to head with Doctor Strange. Now I was told by a source that I’m not 100% sure I trust him because he stinks and his whole channel stinks, that this leads to a big chase through New York in the mirror dimension. Apparently, Peter swings through buildings as they collapse on one another like how they did in Doctor Strange and it’s meant to be a mind-bending moment in which he attempts to outrun the sorcerer supreme.
The cube is destroyed during this and the villains are then set free.
Arc Reactors
Now the Collider report stated that The Green Goblin attempts to steal one of Stark’s Arc reactors and that is the main MacGuffin of the movie. It’s something I’ve also heard and read in several leaks.
You might remember a while back that a big plot leak was posted on the subreddit Marvel Studio Spoilers that had this in it and I’ve spoken to several people who’ve said it’s how the movie culminates. During my Falcon and Winter Soldier breakdowns, I talked about how behind-the-scenes images of No Way Home showed The Statue Of Liberty holding a giant Captain America shield and this is supposedly where the finale takes place.
The arc reactor powers a big machine above it and Strange pulls in Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s versions of the characters from their main universes to stop the villains once and for all.
Who Dies?
There’s also a big death at the end of the film but I’ve had so many people tell me conflicting things I’m not too sure exactly which character it is. One More Day had elements of Aunt May’s death brought into it so it could be her but I’ve also been told that it might be Happy Hogan or Ned. Interestingly whenever someone has brought up the latter they’ve said that this sets up the character to go on to become the Hobgoblin but whether that’s the case I wouldn’t like to say…unless I’m making a Youtube video about it that I plan to monetise.
Now that’s all of the details I’ve been told on the film that I haven’t really seen talked about anywhere else and I think that if they’re true then the movie is gonna be phenomenal.
What Else Do We Know?
There’s so much going on in it and as a movie that has been described as Peter Parker’s Endgame, I think there’s a lot to look forward to in it. Now people are getting flagged left and right for talking about this stuff so if you work at a studio and want me to remove parts of the video or take it down then just let me know instead of the instant block. I know a lot more about the movie but with those details getting put out there recently I thought it would be cool to talk about things that are already public knowledge but I don’t wanna cause any Carnage…buh bum cha.
We also know that this film will open up a lot of doors to connect to the grander Sony Spider-Verse and in an interview with Variety Sanford Panitch, President Of Sony said they have a plan.
This involves bringing all of their heroes from Spider-man to Spider-man to Spider-man venom and Morbius all under one roof and things will become a lot clearer when No Way Home is released.
Trailer
Now as for the trailer date, it seems like every other day 700 videos are being made about when it’s definitely dropping and these all turn out to be wrong. I don’t care if your uncle works at the Sony store I don’t believe any of you.
There was a lot of speculation that it was going to drop on the first of June as that was Tom Holland’s birthday and people were even going so far as to make fake Twitter posts saying they’d seen it.
I actually went round to my uncle’s house to play Ps6 and we watched it on his iPhone 20 and to prove it I actually took photos of the title card and nothing else because that’s real.
There’s been a lot of people jumping back and forth saying when it’s coming and why but the truth is no one knows for definite. However, one of the writers at Disinsider said that it will likely come within the next two weeks and be attached to Peter Rabbit. Numerous sources have said this so I would imagine that it is dropping relatively soon. There’s also the possibility that it could be attached to Black Widow and this makes a lot of sense too.
I do know people quite high up in the industry though, namely my uncle, and absolutely no one as of now seems to know for definite when it’s dropping. You’ve got more chance of getting your damn door fixed than you do of getting a definite day and date but it is coming at some point between now and the 17th of December.
