WHAT DO WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THE CAMEO IN THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER?

Malcolm Spellman, the show’s creator, has been teasing at what’s to come in several interviews on the show.

When discussing what to expect, he stated:

“There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with, like—it’s a very, very grounded character—partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that… The personality is so strong; it’s the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.”

So we know that it’s a very grounded character and that they have a strong personality.

Spellman also cleared up that it was not T’Challa or Chadwick Boseman. After the appearance by Ayo, many thought that the series might be his last appearance, but it has now been clarified through Vanity Fair that this isn’t the case. He did, however, lend his voice to Marvel’s upcoming series What If, where he will be appearing as a different take on Star Lord.

Now, Slashfilm basically gave us a lot of clues and an almost guessed level of things to take from what’s going to be happening, and they said that the character has not been seen in the MCU before.

Firstly, this rules out Zola and Red Skull, both of which have been theorised to appear in the series, and it also narrows down the list to characters that are not in any of the pre-existing films.

Secondly, they aren’t likely to appear in any upcoming film, and the cameo isn’t set up for another movie.

This rules out characters from the Black Widow movie, some of which I’ll be discussing later in the video, and pretty much means that this is going to be a standalone moment for the show.

There is lots of bad news for us speculating there, but they have said that they were not created for the show and that this character does exist in the comics. They reiterated that they’re also well-known actors, and they have several awards under their belts.

Now, the fact that they say actor and bring up actress makes me think that they might have said that purely because the cameo will be a woman. Last year, when filming was going on, I actually received an email from someone who sent a picture of the image to Atlanta Filming at the Dekalb Courthouse. They said that they had also seen an image of a blonde woman with a coat over her head who had been snapped. They didn’t know who it was but thought that that was the cameo.

Atlanta Filming’s original post said that the show was filmed there for two days, and when you see who is in the scene, don’t forget to message them when your mind explodes.

That was all the way back on the 28th of February 2020, but Atlanta filming followed up on the 2nd of April, saying that as far as he knew, she was still in it, and I did link the two images.

Now I did post this on Twitter because I’d heard it was a blond woman, and this post kind of blew up a bit on Reddit.

You should never assume, as it makes an ass out of you and me, and then Atlanta Filming has come out and said, Just stop, and also that it’s not a woman, but I’m sure most of you can see why I linked the two and thought that it was legit because of this.

BEST SUSPECTS FOR THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER EPISODE 5 CAMEO

I was hoping that it might be Goldie Hawn because she is, of course, Wyatt Russell’s real-life mother; she’s won a lot of awards, and also, with Kurt Russell being the MCU, it sort of brings everything full circle. In the comics, it was actually Walker’s parents who were murdered, not Battlestar, and this sent him off the deep end. So I was kind of thinking that they might be doing this because of the meta joke it creates and also because Goldie Hawn has a big personality. I also think she would work well with Thor, and it ticks a number of boxes, I think.

However, big letdown here for you guys. Since then, I’ve DM’d and spoken to some scoopers, and they’ve said they know the person isn’t blonde. Myself and Josh from Den of the Nerds have asked quite a lot of people since I did that tweet, and we’ve talked to Jim Carrey, Obidiah Stane, and a lot more. Pretty much everyone has said they don’t think it’s a blond woman; however, some have said that the person who emailed me might be simply linking up certain appearances together and assuming one is for Episode 5 when it could be for Episode 6.

The blonde woman could also easily be Florence Pugh, who is rumoured to be in the show; however, she might turn up for the finale.

We’ve already seen characters like Sharon Carter, Rhodey, and Batroc turn up from other things, so I would guess that we might see more MCU characters beyond just this Episode 5 person.

A blonde woman might not turn up at all either; I’m just being transparent with what I’ve been told.

Other guesses that I liked that people sent were Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence, who at one point was supposed to be playing Sue Storm.

Watch it turn out to be John Goodman or something and not a blond woman in the series at all, ever again.

Now over to Charles Murphy, who has said that he’s aware of the actor and stated that they aren’t playing the powerbroker. Murphy said he’s a big fan of them, but that everyone was way overdoing it.

Because of this, don’t expect to see someone like Wolverine or Professor X show up, as they’re way too big for what this cameo is.

One thing that’s kind of annoying is that people who know who it is have hyped up this cameo, but then recently they’ve downplayed who it is and told us not to speculate.

I think this is purely because of Wandavision and all the backlash that came over it when fan theories turned out to be true, but I would say if you don’t want people to speculate, then don’t say that you know who it is and hype up the cameo. People in a comic book fan base are clearly going to make guesses, so if you open the can of worms, you better be ready for the dirt that comes with it.

I really hope it is someone big, but they might drop another big Bohner and just have Anthony Mackie playing Smiling Tiger or something.

Now that’s everything we know, you’ve heard my guess with Goldie Hawn, so I want to turn it over to you guys, and in the comments below, drop your best guess on who the character could be. Extra points if you make it the most tenuous Mephisto link.

As a thank you for interacting with the video, you’ll be entered into a prize draw on the 30th of April in which we’re giving away three copies of Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 4K.
